*****Preliminary Crash Investigation*****
Investigation revealed that the vehicle, a 2019 grey in color Tesla S class (Fully Electric) was occupied by
and its owner, traveling west bound on Hammock Pl at a high rate of speed. As the vehicle
entered a long gradual curve, it drifted off the roadway on the north side and struck a raised curb. Upon striking the
curb, the vehicle entered the grassy area where it then traveled approximately 100 feet before striking a tree with the
front right. When the vehicle struck the tree it caught on fire, then was fully engulfed. Investigation further revealed
that the Tesla S class was fully equipped with the Self-Driving Capability (Fully Autonomous) and evidence on scene
shows that the owner, was sitting in the left rear passenger seat and his passenger a family friend,
was sitting in the front right passenger seat. The driver`s seat was unoccupied. The wives of the
victims advised that they had just returned home from dinner when and were talking about the vehicle
and its self-driving ability. A short time later the two men departed their residences to do a test drive when the crash
occurred.
